Tango Residential Programme,
Limoges France
31st July to 5th August with Marielle
Marielle’s approach focuses on going beyond learning steps to an in-depth work on posture and movement. Putting special emphasis on tuning in to one’s self, the partner and the other couples, she applies herself to developing the understanding of the mechanics and the structure of the movements and steps.
Therefore each class begins with warm-up exercises designed to introduce the step and concept about to be worked on and to develop a technique favouring ease and fluidity. She pays particular attention to offering personalised paths to improvement.
This means she enables leaders and followers to develop their creativity - both partners being equally involved in interpreting the music. She also thinks it important to encourage everyone to respect the collective dynamics in the milonga.

Marielle
After having practiced martial arts (ju-jitsu & karate) and social dances (ballroom, Caribe’s), she began dancing tango in 1996.
Childhood bac problems led her to do a specific personal body work on her posture (classical physical therapy, Mézières Method, Alexander Technique, Feldenkris, Pilates). These experiences have had a big influence on her development and approach to teaching tango oriented to physical comfort of both partners.
This range of different experiences, as well as number of tango trips abroad since 1998 (7 to Buenos Aires), gave her the opportunity to create style that she uses for her teaching with a big emphasis on the connection between the partners. Technique and study of steps are for her only a means to greater freedom of interpretation of the music together.
The music is also one of the principal characters of the dance, she began in 2000 as a DJ in classical milongas in Paris as well as for festivals and special events (Copenhagen Tango Festival, Tavira, Buenos Aires, Nimes, Tours, Lille, Sitges' Promenade...).
She likes to share this knowledge of the music in her tango courses.
